Oliver Näslund (b. 1998, Sweden)
My art practice is firmly rooted in my journey with mental health. What started as a way for me to get out of bed quickly evolved into a beautiful transformative journey of healing and restoration.
Through the act of making, I found a voice I thought would be lost forever, and it allowed me to create something out of the very real darkness and pain I was experiencing. Now that I'm free from that pain, I can create through a lens of curiosity and wonder, and this curiosity helps me work simultaneously across multiple disciplines that include painting, sculpture, installations, sound, video, and photography.
I can confidently say that art saved my life, and I believe that it inherits a power that can help anybody that experiences it
